Al-Nassr were given a free-kick inside their own half and Laporte stepped up to take it. The centre-back spotted goalkeeper Drake Callender off of his line and tried his luck with a shot. The former Manchester City star nailed his effort, too, as he sent it sailing towards goal and into the net.

Laporte's goal extended Al-Nassr's lead to 3-0 against the MLS side. The Saudi Arabian team took the lead through Otavio just three minutes into the clash before Anderson Talisca made it 2-0 after just 10 minutes. Just two minutes after that, Laporte sent in the third. The Riyadh club were looking strong despite the absence of star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who had to pull out of the team.
