Joe Cole has stated that he is happy on loan at Lille, and is in no rush to return to parent club Liverpool or the Premier League.
The attacking midfielder has rediscovered form and fitness with the Ligue 1 side, after a frustrating time at Anfield.
Despite his one-year temporary deal with the French club expiring in the summer, Cole has admitted that he is happy with his current situation.
“I would like to stay but it’s not in my hands,” Cole told The Guardian.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone at Liverpool. I’m waiting to hear from them. I’ve been very well received at Lille. I’ve discovered a football culture and a way of playing.
“The only thing that I miss is the atmosphere in the Premier League. The level in France is similar.
“Whenever I go home [to London], I go past the Olympic village. If I am called up again for England, I will be delighted, especially as England are playing France in the first match [at Euro 2012],” he concluded.
